A Synthesia alternative when you don't need an avatar
Synthesia puts an AI presenter in front of your script. UGCLive Editor doesn't use a presenter at all: the pictures, graphics and captions carry the video.
If you need a person on screen, Synthesia is the right tool: it has 125 to 240 stock avatars by plan, personal avatars and 140+ languages. If you're making faceless YouTube, Shorts or explainer videos, UGCLive Editor makes them from a script with narration, a picture per line, motion graphics and captions, then lets you edit by chat.

Stay with Synthesia, or switch?
Stay with Synthesia if
- Your videos need a person presenting: training, onboarding, internal updates.
- You need your own personal avatar, or 140+ languages out of the box.
- You want a free plan to try with: Synthesia's Basic is free with a watermark.
Switch to UGCLive Editor if
- You run a faceless channel and the presenter is a distraction, not the point.
- You post vertical Shorts and TikToks, where big captions and pictures do the work.
- You also edit your own footage and want one editor for both.
Presenter vs pictures
An avatar keeps a face on screen while the words change. Faceless channels do the opposite: the picture changes every few seconds with the story, and the voice and captions hold it together.
UGCLive Editor is built for the second kind. Each sentence gets its own scene, picture and camera move, so a ten-minute video has a hundred or more pictures, not one presenter.
How a script becomes scenes
Our AI splits the script at sentences and keeps your words exactly. Long sentences are cut at the comma nearest the middle, so the picture changes about every four or five seconds, never in the middle of a short phrase.

Translate and edit after
Once a video exists, the editor's chat can translate and dub it, change the voice, add a hook or swap graphics. Every change lands on the timeline, and one Undo takes back the whole request.

Questions
Does UGCLive Editor have AI avatars?
No. It makes faceless videos: narration, a picture for every sentence, motion graphics and captions. If you need a presenter on screen, Synthesia is built for that.
How much does Synthesia cost?
On 2026-10-29 its pricing page listed Basic free, Starter at $19 a month or $14 billed yearly, Pro at $89 a month or $59 yearly, and custom Enterprise plans.
Can UGCLive Editor make vertical videos?
Yes. Pick Shorts and it renders 1080×1920 for YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Reels, or pick YouTube for 1920×1080.
Is UGCLive Editor good for training videos?
It can make clear explainers and course lessons with titles, lists and a calm voice. For training where a presenter matters, an avatar tool fits better.
